With the discussions about widowhood practices dominating conversations across the country, the Story of Mrs Ifeyinwa Okechi in Orsu Ihiteukwa in Imo State, takes a new dimension as her late husband’s brother gets an ultimatum to get them a roof over their heads.
A Reporter with Heritage FM Orlu, Imo State, Kingsley Onwuka and his team tracked her down today as she tells her story!
According to this widow, there has been no love lost between her and her late husband’s brother who has been on her case and he chose this period of her mourning to attack her and her children.
According to her, he chased her out from her shop, collected the keys to their house where they lived, away from the village and demolished the house built by her husband in the village in Orsu.
As we speak she has no place to lay her head and her children’s education have become disorganized. She needs a roof over her head and a group of men in the village have given the husband’s brother an ultimatum of 7days to build her a house and get her a place to stay.
