The First Lady Of Oyo State, Mrs Tamunomini Makinde, has given care givers a pat on the back for their commitment towards the care of children with special needs in orphanages in the state.
Mrs Makinde expressed her appreciation during the donation of food items and cash gifts to some orphanages in the Oyo State capital, Ibadan.
The Wife of the Governor urged them to continue to exercise patience while looking after the children, reminding them that they were doing the work of God.
“I will like to appreciate the caregivers, it’s not easy to give care to people with disabilities”.
“You have to be called to do so, if you have that calling it becomes your drive and you will want to do it over and over again”.
“It is more of your passion, because you have that conviction that this is what you can do to make a difference in the society”.
“I will also like to solicit that people who are into this kind of care giving be a little more patient with these children”.
“Continue to be caring in doing what you are doing, knowing that you are doing it for God,” the Oyo State First Lady said.
The food items such as bags of rice, salt, detergent, bleach, noodles, sanitary wares and containers of vegetable oil were donated to the Oyo State Juvenile Correctional Institution, His Heritage Home, Servant of Charity for Children, House of Providence, among others during Mrs Makinde’s visit.
