Presidential spokesman Femi Adesina has debunked the raging rumor about President Muhammadu Buhari’s plans to take a second wife.
The rumor had gone viral on all blogs and social media handles with a stampede on Twitter – #BUSA19 & #BUSA2019
The President was rumored to be in a relationship with his new minister for Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Sadiya Umar Farouq who is currently out of the country.
In a telephone conversation with a staff of The Daily Report, Special Adviser on media and publicity Femi Adesina said the story about the wedding was baseless and fabricated by persons who wish to divert attention of Nigerians from issues of governance.
The marriage which had Nigerians pitch their tents on different sides of the divide was expected to take place today at the Abuja Mosque and threw up all sorts of pictures, wedding invitations and wedding gift items created on social media.
